That looks really nice right down to the split in the bark! What is the moss made of?

    Nice work on that moss.

Nice work on that fallen tree! Base is looking great

@maxwin the moss is made of Woodland scenics' fine turf (yellow grass in this case) mixed with some green paint and wash to create a heavy loaded wash (kind of).

Here is the current state of the base (the brownish moss on the front is made with the same mix, I just added some brown wash to it).

Ah ah, a good investment! Imagine, I bought the big one myself (the one that looks like a spice container)... I have so much of it I don't think I will run out of it ever

    oo I want that base.
Tomorrow in Bp will start a small painting competition with a theme in fantasy and that base would come really handy for the figure I thought if painting (a 54mm wood elf from an unknown company)
    Forgot, that it works again.

Well @MAXXxxx, I can't give you this one because the mini is already glue ot it.

BUT I can offer you this :

Tel me more about the project (the mini, the idea you have for the base, etc...) and I can make it and send it to you.

    What do you think?

  16. #416

    Hi there,

    Some progress on the Djinn:

I tried to push the contrast as much as possible.
During the week I will try to blend it using the airbrush (always try something new, right ?!).

And something that was delayed because of the covid. The base and the tree are going to travel again (I hope it will arrived safe and sound).
Who will receive it? we will see...

Haha, nice! So glad that tiny patch of ground is still traveling! And very glad that beautiful tree is going with it!

I'm just hoping it won't be damaged during the travel...

Turns out blending with airbrush is mush harder to achieve then I anticipated.

I mainly made the right arm, but lost some contrast in the process, so not sure I'll continue with it.

And here is the start of a new mini-diorama project.
I don't have any miniature to put on it yet but I'm confident I'll thind one shortly.

The idea is to create a fallen big trunc on the side of the road, which force everyone who use the path to walk under it.

The base of the trunc is made of cardboard, filled with tin foil and scealed with white glue.

I think the Djinn is salvageable, because I don't think it looks that bad. Nice start on the new dio, looking forward to seeing what this becomes!
