    If he's about same height as a human than it's 90mm / 1:20 scale.

This guy looks already badass. I can't wait to see more, this is truly interesting. Right now it reminds me a chara design from Gunnm, awesome start!

Now that bike is beautifully done from head to wheel.

Thank you very much Dexter! I love sculpting, so it is nice to hear that I am improving.

It's hard to figure out exactly how tall Joe is, given that he is a drawn character in a comic book, but when he appears in the same panel as a human he is always taller.
The 90mm figure is also measured from his (chopped-off) knees to the top of his head.
So... if I assume that his head is supposed to be roughly the same size as a human head (which appears to be the case), and it measures about 3/4", then he is probably around 1/12 scale.
    ...If I calculate this correctly.

Thank you Kallfa! I'm trying to capture the look of Kev Walker's art from Khronicles of Khaos, to my mind some of the best work out there, period.
He certainly makes the Warriors look bad ass

Thank you John, I appreciate it! Thanks for the votes on p&p too!!

    ..

Here is some more work on Joe. I am adding more of the underlying bulk, once this is done, I need to add some more wiring and cabling, then add the "panels" on the body to cover most of it.
His arms still need lots of works, plus he carries a BFG, so this still needs work. Afterwards (if you know the image I am using as a reference) there is some... clothing... that needs to be added.

I also started a rough sketch of the Tetsuo-ork I had in mind. He is still headless, but I can't help myself - I had to start working on his tentacles right away.

I have no idea what you are basing these off of, but they do look pretty awesome!

Both sculpts look great, Chris. You’ve always got such a wealth of strong ideas, and your realization of them keeps getting better and better.

Another creative custom product out of the Gorb-factory :-)
Can you throw some lights on what a Tetsuo-ork is?
Never heard about that term before.

Graishak, you need to watch Akira movie and you'll understand ;D

Gorb, your sculpting skills are impressive, you make me want to try!

@Kallfa: Thanks for the hint. I recently bought the movie. Will close this knowledge gap soon :-)

The Joe Pineapples sculpt is from the comic 2000ad, specifically a story called ABC Warriors: The Khronicles of Khaos.
One of the covers has Joe decked out in some sweet looking attire, after his inner conflicts were... set straight? by the planet Hekate during the Blood Moon festival.
    Here's the cover:

Thank you kindly Rhett! The way your skill level has gone into hyper speed this past year is certainly inspirational to us all!

Haha, thanks Graishak! Yes, please take Kallfa's advice and watch Akira. Just the fact that it is a hand-crafted anime, in the time before CGI and motion capture, then add the amazing storyline, it is an absolute legendary work of art.
And thanks Kallfa, I'm glad I can be inspiring!

We went camping in Death Valley for a couple of days to get away from the madness that is 2020. Very much stress-reducing to just sleep under the desert stars for a bit.
Will be back to sculpting shortly...

    Very impressive.

I've sculpted extras on minis in the past to good effect, (extra cloaks, odds and sods etc), but never a fully formed mini myself. Find it quite intimidating if I'm honest.

Glad to hear it, bud. The outdoors offer such a valuable respite from our collective suffering & dysfunction. I’ll be surprised if you didn’t walk away with a crazy creative idea or two!
Thanks for your kind words, too.

Nice little decompression camping time is always a good time! Sometimes I really miss seeing all those stars living near cities and it is great to get out into the country and see how amazing the sky truly is at night! And I will second (or is that third) the recommendation to watch the original Akira movies/shows, and I would add the original (not the recent movie) Ghost in the Shell as well!

Thank you Gemini! I understand what you are saying, but hey, what's the worst that can happen? You will already have the tools and the putties, probably some wire too - give it a go if you want to!
On the other hand though, there are some amazing kitbashes and modifications out there, the only reason I don't do more of that is because I'm too cheap to buy more minis

Thanks StToad, yeah the desert is really a magical place. No crazy ideas for now, but just looking around and seeing the colors, contrasts, textures... very cool.

Yeah, it was really decompressing, and uplifting! I agree, the original GITS is an awesome movie. Some iconic scenes and ideas there too.
BTW you can watch it for free on YouTube, I kid you not. Go and offer up 80 minutes of your life to the anime gods.

The follow-up Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence is the yin to GITS yang, it contains much more mo-cap and cgi, but is still an amazing piece of art.
    I can definitely recomment it.

Here is a little collage of some of the stuff we saw and did:

I did some more work on Joe's gun, and started adding the panels to his shoulders:

And little Tetsuork got some love and attention too:

Thank you Replica, I'm glad you like him!

I've finished the sculpting on the Testuo-ork, along with his base, and given him some black primer + a drybrush of white.

I'm in the process of setting up my in-door airbrush station so I can get some work done while the outside temperatures drop - the garage was fun, but I have much better
light at my hobby desk. He'll just have to wait for a bit...

Waaaagh this ork looks amazing! I love making little dioramas but I've never tried my hand at a background like it seems like you've got going here.
