Thanks! Haha! That news print is super old, I don't think anyone wants that batch of Doritos anymore

Thank you John! Not much painting going on at the moment, but I'm glad you are enjoying the sculpting!

I've put Joe aside for a bit, before I start on the next modification, and in the meantime sculped up some 28mm style weapons.
I have this idea to sculpt a couple of gang members for necromunda / skirmish style games (like planet 28) that I can play with my kids.

These are now ready to be put into a mold, so I've got some bits in an armory bitbox.

Also sculpted some grenades and pouches:

Aaaand... then I spent some more time making greeblies and bits for scenery:

plus I started making plaster casts of the space hulk styled terrain tiles I did before

Awesome sculpting work (as usual). Do you have already some minis in mind, where those guns could be applied to?
Would be a pitty to put them into the Bitz box.

Holy shit dude those look incredible! I can’t quite comprehend just how small those guns actually are!?

Thank you Graishak! Yes, I am planning to make some gangs of scavengers and whatnot, going to try and do them loose and fast, so in order to not spend way too much time on the heads and guns,
I wanted to premake these, so I can just use them and adapt as needed.

Thanks Tim, much appreciated! I'm glad you like them. I put the space marine next to them just to give some (physical scale). In the end they are pretty
much the same bulky heroic size as all the other 28mm weapons out there, so not too small. Just small enough to be super fiddly

Thank you Dexter! I am but a man though. I wish sometimes I could work faster lol

So while working on the guns and other stuff I wanted to sculpt something grim dark again, so I did this cyborg.
The gun still needs a bit of sanding and maybe drilling out some of the round shapes, but he is pretty much done and ready to be painted.
Gotta find a base for him still though.

    What do you think?

I love the pose, really dynamic.

Not so sure about the birdy head though... maybe adding horns to it? (looks a little too small I think).

    Just my 2ct.

    That's really impressive mate!
What are the different types of putty used?

Thanks Dexter! That is a good point, the head is too small. I am thinking about adding a lower jaw, and maybe some cyborg eye augmentation, to buff it up a bit.
Horns sound fantastic though, I'm gonna give it a go! I'll try some kind of ram horns, to fit with the pipes coming out of his head, or maybe reindeer style OTT horns? Ha!

I've got greenstuff over a wire armature, covered in fimo for bulk, then some extra greenstuff for details, and a couple of plastic bits for the gun bulked out with some aves and/or milliput.
I'm still learning which putty works best for what, and each putty has its own tips & tricks that I'm still learning too.

Green stuff seems best for when you want a sticky surface (ie to get other things to stick to the wire armature) and want an extra smooth surface and finer details.
The fimo is mostly used because I can bulk out, change my mind, cut, add more etc. As a poly clay it doesn't change consistency over time, and only hardens when I bake it.
Aves and milliput are fairly similar, and are good for bulking of weapons / gear / stuff with hard angles, because it is easy to cut and sand after curing, and the cut surface doesn't look different
    from the rest (unlike greenstuff).

    Like I said, still learning

I made two sets of horns for the little weirdo, but he didn't like them. I think the pipes on the back of his head just interferes with them. So I settled on giving him more jaw, and some ears, to make him look more canine like.
Primed and sanded, here are some photos.

He is up on Putty&paint too: https://www.puttyandpaint.com/projects/30497

I’m so jealous of people who can sculpt well! I can barely do decent greenstuff worms!

Thanks Dexter, much appreciated! I feel like I am slowly improving sculpt by sculpt, happy to know others may think so too

I've been out shaving the yak again, this time with bases: I took some of the greeblies that I made before and built a couple of 1" base toppers, which I've currently got sitting in a curing mold.
These should come in handy for the hoard of genestealers that I have on my pile of shame, and also for the planned gang members I have in the pipeline.

Here is a collection of some of the greeblies I now have molds for:

And here is a first cast of the guns I made earlier:

I chopped up two of them and stuck them together to make a new gun, as an example of what I plan to do with these:

You know, kitbashing. But from scratch.
