Default Back to it! Be brutal.

Hi everyone, after a little break from painting, I am back and pushing myself to try new techniques.

On the mini below, done in 3 hours in 1 evening, I did the following new techniques (for me anyways):

    - Zenithal priming
    - Glazing (nothing but glazes)
    - NMM
    - Tons of work on the face

I honestly think it's my best work so far, really happy with it

Just need to re-work the eyes a bit.

Compared to my first dudes 2 years ago, definitely some improvement

As you say a massive improvement over the two years.
On the skin, the 'step' between layers is harsh, focus on smoother blending to get a nice event graduation.

Thank you for asking but I don't do commissions.

Man, 3 hours; that looks stellar to me. The improvement from your older work, is certainly noticeable.

Keep 'em coming, I'd like to see more of what you can do (specially if only 3 hours gets something as good as that out of you)!

thanks guys! I have entire armies to paint for AoS, WH40K, plus tons of board game minis as well (I think I have over 300 minis to paint and build).

I'll keep practicing on smoother blends, but on such small surfaces like the skin its really difficult for me, I'm not sure I have the right technique for it.

What color should I do the eyes to make em pop?
What color to push highlights on face without making him look like a clown?
What color should I do the base?

I like this little chaos sorcerer, skin blending looks smoother than your previous mini (which looks already pretty nice to me as for the time you spent on).
For the eyes I would go with something yellow/orange OR green to represent kind of an interior fire if you know what i mean.
To continue highlighting the skin i'll keep using white.
For the base, why not try to create a lava feeling?
On the metal side though, I would add some rust to it, looks too clean to me for a chaos guy.

agree the spooky boys look really nice! The DG old armor was a off white color, so you could always add a panel or two of that to change it up some. Might help break up all the green.
