Trajn assassins and some ig. These guys are “my” army so I don’t spend quite as much time as my sons army but passable. The ig were speed painted with contrast and I’m pretty happy with how they came out all things considered

Nice work, I think the IG came out really well with just the contrast paint.

A relatively quick chaos sorcerer. Needed a head from his sprue for something else and figured I’d knock him out too

Wasn’t sure what to do with the familiar but he grew on me with his creepy little eyes. Now to finish up the loyal 32 and a metric buttload of speed paint berserkers!

Posting for completeness sake. I need to make a light box.

With that head you used, it reminds me of Sauron Nice job on the figure.

That's what it reminded me of! Also he's getting rated fairly highly compared to most of my picture posts. I swear good photography and angles (like showing the back) seem to have a huge impact on how people vote, I'm really surprised honestly!

I have 30 berserkers 12 ig and 10 Custodes I have to finish before I get to do my lord discordant (per my son. He doesn’t even use them al he just likes big piles of troops) so more sped painting on the horizon for sure! Thank god for contrast and all gold color schemes

A sample of the 10 guard in speedpainted. The pts and quality vs effort and time invested is incredible for Custodes models!

I’ve been in speed painting mode lately so lots of contrast. The Custodes were mostly dry brushed. Here’s my loyal 32 finally done. I blazed through them with contrast paints. Last 13 I did in one night and for tabletop they are fine. I’ve really grown to like them. I was a little sad when my sons deredo dread and berserkers mowed them down like grass...

Had a look through your WIP, it all looks really good, my favorite so far is the dark apostle. It's nice to see people embracing contrast paints, I don't use them much but they've let me paint quicker, those annoying details like teeth or pouches are so much easier with one coat!

You know I was telling my wife, if I didn't start this hobby with my son I would approach it totally differently. I'd try to paint each and every model perfectly. Heck I'd probably be stripping the first models I painted. But my son just wants guys on the table and armies we can take to our flgs to play pick ups with so I was forced to make some compromises. Contrast gives me perfectly acceptable results but it massively saves me time. And I feel like at worst their shortcomings can be handled by coming back with regular paint if you want to. And I'm cranking out a lot more points on the table this way that's for sure.

That said after I finish the million berserkers I have left I'm going to go back to basics and go crazy detailed on the next couple models on the list: our Lord Discordant and then Ahriman

Heh thanks. But now I’m stumped on the last squad of nine. Could do red corsair black on red. Was also thinking of doing a hodgepodge or random schemes which would actually fit red corsairs fine thematically. Any suggestions? Was considering iron warrior scheme just because I like the look. Don’t know if that isn’t berserkery enough
