    Default Dragon and monster minis

    Hey guys and gals,

    I wanted to start a thread specifically showing minis I create and that go directly to my patreon and myminifactory. I just started 7 weeks ago so I dont have a lot yet. However, what I do have, I hope you all like

    They are cut up for small resin printers and I also make versions tht are one piece for larger filament printers. The size range is between 8-13" in either height, length, or wing span.

    Thanks for looking!

    Here are links to all my art, work, and support pages if interested

    Look at my Alias and there’s your reason.
    (Plus I have a LARGE collection of PETS. )

    P.S. Your Artstation address in your signature doesn’t work. I think you’re missing a ‘T’ out of your alias.

    Thanks to the Universities of Google and YouTube I',m now 4 hours into the printing of the first pieces.

    If anyone is considering buying a 3d Printer here's a few thoughts,;
    PLA (extruded material) is cheaper in the long run but you lose a bit in detail and get printing lines to deal with. And it helps if you get the right extrusion temperature (220 +/- Celcius)
    Resin does give you much higher detail and quality, with an increase in cost and extra work. (Washing in Isopropyl Aclohol, Curing with UV light.)

    I'm using a Wanhao I3 (Aldi selling them as Balco) with Cura Slicing Software (Bit of a Pain to load) PLA printer which runs around £299 - ish.
    IF I was to go the Resin route (thinking about it) I'd probably opt for the Elegoo Mars at around £225. And Resin at around £20-£25 per half litre. A UV curing light (not a torch) anywhere from £15 up to £40.

    Whichever way to look at 3D printing it's time consuming. The wings alone on the Dragon I've opted for are going to take a full day plus to print.
    Still worth it.

    Great dragons! I especially love the last two! A shame I don't have a 3D printer

    Yeah this baby..The Red Dragon
    Well I started printing the body section on Sunday at 08:00.....It just finished printing 10 minutes ago at 11:50 on Monday. (28 Hours)
    No hiccups, no faults.
    She's starting to look a little 'Tasty'.

    And while there's not a figure to give it scale; here's her dimensions:-

    Height = 23.07 cm
    Depth = 23.9 cm
    Wingspan = 41.7 cm

    ..............And I haven't told Fran that yet.

    Just a smaller (40%) version of the Red Dragon.
    35 hours of printing to get this.

    I would have guessed you were making a model of the Sydney Opera house if you wouldn't have included that second picture. I don't know if I would have the patience to do that, but it looks like you are having some fun with it.

    Hey I'm married, of course I’ve learned the virtue of patience. (And keeping out of Fran’s way)

    Surprisingly the removal of the supports is rather cathartic.
    They are only 0.2mm thin ribbons, they look thicker in the photo as they are in a concertina like pattern.
