    Default NW vows and NCUs

Hi, I need a bit of help.

My regular opponent is Lannister and his load out is typically Mountains Men infantry, Cersie and Tyrion.

In the early days games could go either way but now it’s very lopsided against me, it’s not uncommon for my Sworn Brothers to receive 14 attack dice when the Mountain in a unit that’s buffed. I’ve lost a Sworn Brother units in a single round more than once as I couldn’t heal it fast enough!

I’ve never found Vows to be that good so obviously I’m not playing the deck right because I’m always on Moneybags with Master Aemon from turn 2 to get some healing going. Do NW players motor through the deck for the keepers and if so what are the?

Cersie seems to be a buffing beast and I’m thinking of going 3 NCUs; Aemon, Varys & Baelish or Yarwick to try and reduce her power, but obviously that comes at a cost. Thoughts?

I usually run c40pts of (but I have at least one of everything):
    Jon Snow & Ghost
    2x Sworn Brothers
    1x Crossbows
    2x Conscripts
1x Storm Crow Mercs + Bronn
    Aemon
    Varys
And attachments to 40pts usually starting with Recruiters

Where am I going a miss?

    Thanks

    Joken

    1. Swap varys for bowen and go ham on the message board, you draw 3 cards a turn that way.
    2. DO NOT THROW CARDS, 90% of the NW deck are reactive and will save your ass constantly.
    3. If you have them I'd advise swapping storm crows and bronn with ranger hunters, if you dont have them theyre a worthy investment.
    4. swap a SB unit with vets, theyre a powerhouse with the jon snow commander attached.
    5. Try swapping commanders, Jeor is insane with the new buff, equip him to your vets and watch them live through almost anything, especially with SOTROM attached.
    6. If you can afford it, attach jon snows Attachment version to a SB unit, its pretty damn good.
Feel free to ask more specific questions if you want

    P.S. If you're interested I've created a 14 dice on a 2+ with critical blow, sundering, on a vulnerable enemy. It's terrifying

    Maelstrom74,

Thanks for the ideas. I’ll run with Jeor, Bowen and some vets, with Jon as an attachment to a SB unit.

I have the ranger hunters but have been underwhelmed for there 8pts.

Qu: Do you cycle through the cards by throwing them out as vows on units early in the game eg. Take the Black which is not much use early in the game?

I think my opponent has a better handle on managing their tactics cards than I have handling my tactics/vows, hence the thought of going three NCUs.

Answer: No. The entire point of the nightswatch deck is to have AS MANY cards in hand as possible. This is why using bowen marsh on the message is so useful i find, because you go from just 2 cards, to three cards one of which you choose the best of two options. By middgame you want to have a massive hand because once you do you will literally have a counter to almost anything your opponent can throw at you.
