Default Stl, metal, resin & painted fantasy miniatures

    Hey there everyone,

I will be launching a Kickstarter soon that offers STL, METAL, RESIN, and PAINTED Fantasy Miniatures. I would appreciate some feedback regarding the models designs.

as long as you like them and find backers, have success.

personally I find them detailed enough (especially if around 35mm or less), but not too keen on how they look (not fan of the inhuman elements on humans) and the poses they have (like the 8th one, find the 6th one funny, rest I find boring)

hmm, I think besides the poses the problem is that the designs fall in the "uncanny walley".

The only figures I like are the 2 last ones (8th mostly because of pose + looks relatively normal (except the feet), 9th because it's inhuman enough and has less of the uncanny feel to it)
    Forgot, that it works again.

Thank you for your honesty. Everyone has different tastes but hearing that kind of opinion shared politely is refreshing. Although my goal was to do something no one else has so I won't be changing the character designs over something like that. It's just a matter of finding people who are in to that kind of thing. It was good to hear that you thought they were detailed enough. If there are any other pointers like details on the outfit or how to make the poses seem more natural I would appreciate that.

yep, that's why I started with "personally".
As long as you find others interested in the minis it'll be good.

outfit: nothing here, looks like you were going with the modern look (jeans mostly, with a jogging on the centaur like one)

    poses:
I messed with 3d models around and found out, that even with proper bones reposing is a pain, so no idea if you want to do it even if you like the idea (maybe it's better for a 2nd KS for a 2nd batch of figures)
    - most are just standing with the hands on their hips, so some ideas:
-- blue: keep as a reference, maybe a bit more X-legs than they already are
-- red: not sure if the model has 2 tails or 2 wings (look like tail, but 2 simmetrical suggest wings), could be reposed as sitting/squatting, maybe even holding one of the tails in the hands before the torso 'hiding behind it'. It could even do it on a low wall/branch/stone/etc..
-- yellow: keeping the "2 hands on the hips" pose, https://www.ebay.de/itm/75mm-Resin-F...IAAOSwyIRfal1A
this is a slight repose by moving the head, shoulders, hip, legs to flow a bit more.
-- brown: to be honest here I'd move the arms, so all 4 wrap around the body/arms going for a very introvert pose (introvert people (me among them) ofter close their arms when speaking with someone making a defensive barrier)/hugging itself. Also while it'd need more material for printing and would make painting harder the character could lean against a wall.
-- aqua: I'd lift the left fore leg (stepping on a stone/rubble/treasure) and slightly bend the right fore leg. Right now both are VERY straight, while the back legs suggest some movement.
-- purple: here the shown emotion (expressed with the top 2 arms) I find funny enough, that I'd keep it.
-- magenta: to be honest for some reason (most likely because of the legs) I have a disco vibe here, so I'd just straigthen the left arm out as if she was pointing at something.
-- white: I liked this pose, so would keep it
-- green: no idea, would probably keep it as is (to be honest it reminds me a bit like the alien from the American Dad cartoon)

    Also I forgot:
    - did you make test prints of them? I ask because quite often details that look good on screen come out shallow when 3d printed, you might have to adjust the 3d for that before production.
    - even though I like metal minis in general, but I'd probably ditch that option for resins. Getting the materials and working with 2 different casting methods will take much more resources than you think. Also STL is an interesting option. As a creator up to today I don't know how could I protect my IP/designs while making them available (copies, ease of piracy).
    Forgot, that it works again.
