With the lannister tactic card, it says a unit gets +1 to defensive save rolls this attack, if you control the money bag, also automatically block D3 hits. I have a question on the timing of this as we where trying to figure out if the D3 removes before hit rolls are saved or if the save rolls are taken first then the D3 removes fails?

Since you play the card before rolling your defence dices and that the effects of card are resoved immediately (unless stated otherwhise) you first block 1d3 then roll the remaining defence dices.
