HISTORY IN THE MAKING (where I will catalogue a brief historical comment on the completed units):

Desolation. That is the best word to describe the Eight Peaks. Desolation. In the rugged peaks of the Worlds Edge Mountains only death can be found, but somehow many races of the Old World struggle to retain power in this region. The secret is that inside of the mountains lies great wealth from a Dwarven civilization that has outlived itself.

Skarsnik, an unusually smart and tactically sound goblin, has managed to gain control of the region, and was even the self-proclaimed ruler of the Dwarf Hold of Karak Eight Peaks for a time. Until Belegar Ironhammer returned to claim his birthright. Although Belegar currently holds the hold, it is a constant balance of power between him, Skarsniks horde, and the devious skaven known as Queek Headtaker.

It was on the eve of yet another assault against the hold that the destiny of Skarsnik and his tribes would change forever. Sitting in his command cave, Skarsnik indulged in a mushroom brew that had been delivered by Skeezer's Red Moon tribe. Of course, Skarsnik knew this to be a bribe, mostly to keep him from having to send any of his tribe to help support the constant assaults of the Eight Peaks. But the gold was coming in, as were a variety of other tokens from the tribe. As Skarsnik indulged in the brew, in the back of his mind he knew he would have to put the chieftan in his place soon, lest he assume that the wealth he had truly belonged to him and the Red Moons, but this would be a matter for another day. Eventually drifting off to sleep, Skarsnik awoke in a cold sweat to the presence of another, one whom he did not immediately recognize but at the same time seemed so familiar. Immediately slashing out with a hidden dagger, the blade went right through the figure as if it was not there at all.

"Who are you to enter my domain?" demanded Skarsnik. As soon as the words were out of his mouth, the figure erupted into a greenish flame that lit up the cave. Behind the figure, squatted a massive wyvern, surrounded by the same ethereal flame. "I am the resurrected. The re-incarnation of Gork and Mork, I am he that you will be commanded by!" The cave shook with the force of the last words, and though Skarsnik was not easily rattled, he found himself cowering before the presence of this immense being. "What would you have of me?"

And with this, in the middle of the night Skarsnik gathered all of his forces and marched on the Stonefist Clan, to retrieve a chest that held so much value that the Gods Gork and Mork would send such a creature of immense power. Although the members of the Stonefist Clan put up a valiant effort to defend their keep, the overwhelming numbers of the force Skarsnik bore down upon them with was too much, and the hold quickly fell. This victory would be short lived, however, as Belegar Ironhammer had finally caught up to them and quickly engaged the army in a counter attack, scattering much of Skarniks Horde and sending him fleeing. But it was enough time for Skarsnik to discover that the chest had been carried south, and he knew just the tribe that he could go to in order to get appropriate reinforcements, the Red Moons.

SKEEZER - NIGHT GOBLIN BIG BOSS

Skeezer, Night Goblin Big Boss and Chieftan of the Red Moon Tribe
Skeezer became the Chief of the Red Moon tribe through both cunning and luck. He was foraging in the lower peaks of the worlds edge mountains for mushrooms to help soothe his brothers (Snotgit) outbursts of magical energy, when he fell into a deep dark hole. In this hole he discovered a long abandoned dwarf hall, that showed signs of a great battle. In the center of the great hall lay the skeletal remains of a huge dragon, but more importantly, underneath these remains was a huge pile of collected treasure. Always one for moving up in the world, Skeezer knew that he had to somehow use this finding to his advantage, and so he payed a visit first to the current leader of the Red Moon Tribe, Bagnab. Bagnab saw great potential to take this treasure from Skeezer and just as he was about to order his death, Snotgit had one of his typical magical outbursts, causing enough commotion for Skeezer to escape. At this point, Skeezer felt that he had no other option but to gain the support of the most powerful Night Goblin of the Worlds Edge Mountains, Skarsnik. Paying Skarsnik a huge sum of gold, Skarsnik agreed to supply troops to Skeezer in return for the loyalty of the Red Moon Tribe to Skarsnik if Skeezer was able to take control of the tribe. Agreeing to these terms, Skeezer set off with a small contingent of night goblin levies to destroy Bagnab. Reaching the small village where Bagnab resided, Skeezer assaulted Bagnabs tent and easily overthrew the Chieftan. Though the remainder of the tribe was at first reluctant to accept Skeezer's leadership, he convinced them to move the village to his cave at spearpoint, and they soon accepted him as the new Chief. Returning to his secure hold, Skeezer has begun carving himself a small empire, absorbing some of the local goblin tribes into his own, to include the 'Ard Cap's and the Yellow Tooths. Since becoming the Chieftan of the Red Moon Tribe, he has taken the tribe on many raids into Imperial and Dwarven territories at the behest of Skarsik himself. Of late, the tribe is having a lot of encounters with a particular band of Dwarfs who seem to be travelling directly through the Red Moon territory.

    SNOTGIT - NIGHT GOBLIN SHAMAN

Snotgit, Night Goblin Shaman and brother of Skeezer
Snotgit was abnormal from birth. Even as a young goblin, he would have strange outbursts of magical energy that would destroy things around him. Only the magical mushrooms found in the worlds edge mountains are able to control this. It was because of one of these magical outbursts that his brother Skeezer was able to escape with his life and return to claim leadership of the Red Moon tribe. Now, Skeezer keeps Snotgit a steady supply of mushrooms in order to better control the outbursts. Snotgit is also gifted with the ability to make a magical mushroom potion that throws the simplest of goblins into an uncontrollable frenzy.

Skeezers Pride, 32 Night Goblins armed with spears and nets
These goblins are the few that remain from the levie given to Skeezer by Skarsnik. They act as Skeezers personal body guard and are well paid for there services by Skeezer himself. He also ensures that they have a steady supply of the magical mushroom potions made by Snotgit.

    THE RED MASS

The Red Mass, 20 Night Goblins armed with bows
These goblins are the remainder of able bodied goblins from the Red Moon tribe. Skeezer has organized them into an unorganized rabble of miscreants armed with bows and arrows. Though they are fairly ineffective in battle, they often serve as enough of a distraction for Skeezer to get his main raiding force, Skeezers Pride, into action.

    BUHRDUR'S BASHERS

    Buhrdur's Bashers, 3 Hill Trolls
The Bashers, as the Red Moon tribe has begun calling these trolls, is a fitting name for such a nefarious group. Either in combat or not, they seem to be bashing something, whether an enemy troop or a stray night goblin. Skeezer knows the value of these trolls, and so accepts the occasional death of one of his own to keep them happy. Part of a much larger tribe of trolls, the Bashers (Bhurdur, Bhargur, and Bhurbar) have been annexxed to Skeezer by Skarsnik for his years of dedicated service, and for constant payments of gold.

    THE ARDCAPS

The 'Ard Caps, 3 Snotling Swarms
Through a vision detailed by Snotgit, Skeezer launched in expedition into a side tunnel of his hold to find what Snotgit described as "Mushroom Spirits". After three days of marching through the darkness, the expedition was ambushed by a tribe of snotlings who attempted to scare them off. Not realizing that who they ambushed was only the advance party, Skeezer's main body soon arrived and the battle was easily won. Imprisoning the remaining snotlings, Skeezer threatened to put them to death unless they showed him these Mushroom Spirits. Another half a day trip deeper into the tunnel resulted in the finding of the remainder of the snotling tribe and three chained giant mushrooms, who seemed to possess a life of their own. Skeezer, always the opportunist, offered the leader of the tribe, Snigit, the option to join his tribe or die. Snigit, knowing what a good bargain is, promptly agreed. During battle, Snigit and his tribe herd these mushroom spirits against the enemy. Before battle, Snotgit harvests them for a small mushroom cap that grows off of their backs but is the key ingredient in his magic mushroom potion.

    GNASHERS

    Gnashers, 1 Squig Herd
Given the name due to the razor sharp teeth of squigs, the squigs of the Yellow Tooth tribe have become an integral portion of Skeezers army. Since defeating the leader of the Yellow Tooth, Springer, in single combat (that is another story), this herd has earned its mettle in quite a few skirmishes, acting as a razor sharp speed bump for the brunt of the army. Skeezer hopes to corrall more of the wild squigs that roam the caves of the Yellow Tooth tribe and add them to this force.

    SPRINGER'S SPRINGERS

    Springers Springers, 5 Squig Hoppers
Springers Springers, once the elite of the elite of the Yellow Tooth Tribe, are proving their worth in the Red Moon Tribe. After Springers humiliating defeat to Skeezer (a non-hopper), the frequently intoxicated Springers Springers agreed to serve Skeezer in the same capacity that they served there former master. This may also be in some small part due to a certain potion that Snotgit was experimenting with (on them, unbeknownst to them) and there newfound addiction for this potion that, conveniently, only Snotgit can provide - through Skeezer, of course.

The Small Pints, 20 Night Goblins armed with clubs and nets

With the dwarves becoming more and more of a problem in the Red Moon territory, Skeezer has had to look to every available asset to fend off the growing number of attacks. These goblins are much smaller than those that Skeezer normally brings to battle, as they are used primarily to harvest mushrooms in the deeper recesses of the tunnels.

SKARSNIK, WARLORD OF THE EIGHT PEAKS

Skarsnak has effectively and efficiently seized control of the ruined Dwarf Hold known as Karak Eight Peaks, and is recognized by even the Orc Tribes of the region as its overlord. Possessing an intellect and cunning strategic ability, Skarsnik has been able to execute precision ambushes and form his masses of goblins into actual fighting formations.

One of his greatest exploits was during the year 2498 IC, where his Crooked Moon Tribe ambushed a Dwarf army crossing the treacherous valley known as Mad Dog Pass, which later became known as the Battle of the Jaws, named after the greenskin formations that enclosed upon the surrounded dwarfs. In the following Battle of East Gate, Skarsnik was able to also wipe out about half of the dwarf troops, but the other half managed to get into the citadel hold of Karak Eight Peaks. Since the Dwarfs have returned to occupy their ancient hold, Skarsnik has virtually kept the Dwarfs prisoner within their tiny citadel. When the Dwarfs try to enter or leave the stronghold, he hunts them down and hangs their beard scalps on long poles within sight of the citadel walls. He is remarkably cunning and is constantly luring the Dwarfs into ambush after ambush. Under Skarsnik's leadership, the Crooked Moon Tribe became the most important tribe within Karak Eight Peaks. As they increased in power, so too did the fighting with nearby dwarf and greenskin armies alike.

Along with his immense intellect and powerful magical staff, Skarsnik is accompanied by a Great Cave Squig named Gobbla. Gobbla is an enormous, very smelly, and mindlessly vicious creature that Skarsnik had saved from death when it was a mere Squigling. Ever since then, Gobbla has become an eternally loyal companion to Skarsnik, for although his other Goblin Chieftains and Warlords loyalty can be put into question, Gobbla had since saved Skarsnik's life many many times before. As a sign of their close companionship, Skarsnik feeds Gobbla regularly with the tasty flesh of Dwarf, Skaven and any Goblins careless enough to stray too close to its murderous maw.

Skarsnik, self proclaimed Warlord of the Eight Peaks, Chieftan of the Crooked Moon Tribe, and Overlord of the Red Moon Tribe, the Yellow Tooths, the Crooked Tooths, and many other tribes. Thanks to Skeezer and his Red Moon Tribe, Skarsniks realm and treasury have expanded a great deal lately… and it is for this exact reason that Skarsnik has chosen to pay a personal visit to the home of the Red Moons- to ensure the loyalty of those who claim to serve him.

THE STABBER - GOBLIN SPEAR CHUKKA

After the battle of Stonefist Hold, and after witnessing the devastation caused by the dwarven Bolt Throwers during the battle, Skarsnik had some of his brighter gits scrounge together the materials from the devastated Hold to build one for his army. Though many of his forces were routed after the counter attack by Belegar Ironhammer, he managed to drag this and a small amount of other bits of treasure back to the Red Moon Tribes stronghold.

Fangar’s Fangs, 5 Goblin Wolf Rider Elite

Fangar and his Fangs are the scourge of the Eight Peaks. Fangar has built a reputation for his brutality, and uncanny fearlessness for a goblin. Having turned some of the largest, most vicious mountain wolves to his will and equally some of the largest, most vicious goblins that he could find, Fangar has created a terrifying force to be reckoned with. He and his brood have sworn absolute fealty to Skarsnik, and have proved critical in almost every battle. Skarsnik even uses them as debt collectors, or to travel to tribes that appear to forget that they belong to the Warlord of the Eight Peaks. Fangar has single handedly slain many uppity tribal chiefs just because Skarsnik thought they were getting out of line. The fact that they are now with Skarsnik at the Red Moon Tribes camp has definitely put Skeezer on edge.

Enter the Skull Crag Goblin Tribe

Goblins, surprisingly, have a vast network of communication, particularly when it comes to treasure. It should be no surprise then that the Skull Crag Goblin Tribes have now begun to send forces of their own to subdue the dwarven band now said to be carrying a massive horde of gold. The tribe is led by Goreth the Massive, an immensely large and hugely fat goblin whose greed is unmatched even amongst the green skins.

    SOURGUT, Goblin Boar Chariot

Sourgut is the king of all goblins, and rides into battle carrying an heirloom banner endowed with magical enchantments that protect him from harm and cause fear in his enemies. The boar that leads the chariot is actually a demon named Ulrishta, who was trapped in the body of the boar during an experiment with Chaos Dwarfs many years ago. In battle, Ulrishta is able to call down lightning and fire to destroy all who cross the path of the might king Sourgut. At least, this is what plays out in Sourguts head as he rolls his chariot across the field of battle, often times being so disoriented and drunk that he never even encounters the enemy.

The truth is that years ago Sourgut was tasked with tending the boar pits for the tribe. Ulrishta, as the boar is now called, attacked Sourgut, nearly killing him. After recovering, Sourguts mind has never been quite right again, and he started calling himself the king of goblins, and created a ramshackle chariot that he mounted behind the temperamental Ulrishta. This amused Goreth to no end, watching the goblin roll around the camp declaring himself as ruler of the world. Goreth finally gifted Sourgut with a proper chariot, and now enjoys watching him be the first to roll into combat. Somehow, the little bugger always survives, and it always makes Goreths fat rolls jiggle with outrageous laughter.

RED STIKKA'S - Spears of the Red Skull Tribe of Skull Crag

The Red Stikka's have a lot of experience fighting as a mercenary force for Skull Crag, finding themselves hired out to nearly anyone willing to pay. This also has a benefit when Goreth musters the goblin tribes, in that they tend to hold the center line fairly effectively.

Adopting a very unconventional spear fighting style, these goblins are extremely acrobatic and train to fight as more of a dance, typically while intoxicated. Of course, they also tend to die a lot, but Goreth never seems to have issues filling the ranks with more aspiring goblins.

RAGNUK, CHIEFTAN OF THE RED SKULLS

Ragnuk is the Chieftan of the Red Skulls tribe and has sworn fealty to the Massive King Goreth many moons ago. To be fair, Ragnuk swore fealty to the gold that Goreth supplies him and his goblin tribe, as well as provides goblin bodies to continue to ensure that Ragnuk has enough of a fighting force to do Goreths bidding. It also turns out that Ragnuk is, at least for a goblin, a very good tactician on the battlefield. He has split his tribe into three primary fighting functions, the Red Stikka's to hold the line, the Red Screamers to pepper the enemy with bow fire, and the Red Cutters to swoop in with shield and sword and finish the enemy off.

    THE HUNGRY GIANT

Although none would know the tale now, the giant hulking beast referred to as Mokec Hec (the Hungry Giant in goblin tongue) by the Night Goblin tribes was once a peaceful cattle herd that went by the name Geryon. His herd was well known, as they were want to grow well beyond the size of normal cattle. A single beast from this herd was said to be able to feed an entire village.

After a particularly hard winter (not unknown in this part of the world), the small farm that Geryon tended was beset by a tribe of ogres, who slaughtered his cattle and imprisoned him. Galf Tradebasher, the Ogre Chieftan, would eventually sell Geryon to a passing caravan, who would in turn sell Geryon to a travelling circus in the eastern Empire, which would, eventually be waylaid by a large band of Night Goblins.

Having been "rescued" from a travelling Empire circus, Skarsnik employs this lumbering brute in many battles. When not marching to war, the Hungry Giant resides in a deep hole located within Skarsnik's own throne room. The giant is kept well fed, as Skarsnik often amuses himself by throwing the captured enemy, random animals, and even a gobbo or two that displease him into the hole.
