Hello everyone. I am considering starting a 40k Chaos Space Marine Nurgle Army. Right now i have alot of troops that need to be made into nurgle marines but not enough ideas for convertions. What direction do you want to take?

There is (generally at least)
a)the heavily mutated look with tentacles, horns and such (sort of plaguebearers in powerarmor),
b)the diseased look with sore, postules, boils and so on,
c) the corroded look with very rusty - otherwise almost ordinary - chaosmarines with streaky grey/green/white armor,

...and d) the pure old school look with bright green and purple armor!

I am going for a semi mutated look. I dont want it to be too much though. Just some simple but effective convertions.

Thanks for linking to my site. I don't have a lot of time to paint but I've tried lots of Nurgle paint schemes. I collected some techniques useful to Nurgle painters on my painting advice page. Also if you read my blog or even better my WIP thread over at the Bolter and Chainsword you can see some of the newer techniques and color combinations I'm working on.

Then I would go for extra eyes- remember always in 3s, a lot of guitarwire to represent tubes for disgusting liquids, a few tentacles - or other slimy appendages (but not too many, because then you´ll veer into tzeentch territory) and sores, postules and boils.

A lot of people just put sores and stuff on top of the armor, I´ve never really liked that. I would most likely cut off legs, and and such, stick on some human arms, and then putrify the "human" parts - and NOT the armor. But that´s all down to personal taste

nothing to add ideas wise on what the guys are saying I usd skaven poisoned wind globadier backpacs on all mine but GW's lack of spare bits service now scuppers that one...

one thing paint wise make sure to pick yourself up some tamiya clear colours ,.. red green and smoke work great to make easy and effective slime effects from open wounds inarmour etc.. just underpaint with colours you like then slime them up...
