You've got a pretty steady hand, based on how you've done the various detailings. However, based on a few different parts, most specifically the two scabbards on the rear view, your paints need to be thinned a bit more. Shading is also needed, as his skin, armour, et al, are all pretty monochromatic. You'll want to look at the articles section, here, and see about light sources, shading tutorials, finding what works for you out of all of that, and then doing lots and lots of practice. For a first mini, it's a good effort. For the base, you might want to invest in some flocking materials, available at most gaming and hobby shops. Grass, sand... all are preferred over just painting the base.
