Word Bearers Dark Apostle Conversion

This is my first attempt at conversion of a figure, and my first attempt at sculpting with Green Stuff. The figure was made for a conversion competition at a miniature painting and army display forum I belong to. I decided that a neat concept would be a SM Chaplain who had been corrupted by Chaos. It was only after I had planned out what I was going to do with a Chaplain Terminator I had laying around that I found out the Word Bearers Chaos Marine chapter has corrupted Chaplains called Dark Apostles. I adjusted my work somewhat to accomodate an eventual Word Bearers paint scheme. Comments and criticisms welcome, please!

A nice conversion. I like the addition of the barbed wire and the detail on most of the greenstuff. The section on the chest and shoulder pads look a little plain, but a bit of freehand/transfers on the paintjob will fix that easily.

Nice conversion! Can't wait to see it all painted up.

By way of explanation, my concept for this is that his right side is relatively straightforward armor, with a few minor nods to Chaos. From right to left, he becomes progressively more corrupted and bloated to the point where decaying flesh is rupturing out of his armor in the sections where the reinforced banding isn't holding it together. Eventually, I'll be painting the right side armor in Word Bearers crimson and the left side as dead-looking flesh. A little hard to tell from the pics, but there's stitches in a few sections holding his flesh reasonably together. I also handmade the barbed wire wrapped around him, and Accursed Crozius cabling is made from fishing line.
