Lots of votes and no helpful comments. That's just wrong. So, here goes... First, you clearly have a grasp of the concept of highlighting basics. And I like the 'worn' look on the bands on the shield. The base needs some alternate colours, and I suggest a bit more variation on the main body of the mini, itself. He borders on monochromatic in the picture. A little more shadow, maybe? Next, I suggest searching the forums and articles for photography help. Flash photographs end up with all that glare, which takes away from the display for us to look at. A diffusion rig would help you immensely. And gloss coat under the flash is even worse. Add a layer of dullcoat or two over that, to take the shiny off, some. Testors or Liquitex are the most recommended that I've seen. Keep on painting, and you'll get better in a hurry. Trust me. I'm still learning, too.
