Hmm. I guess I need to take a better pic. I actually DID ink and wash on this guy. The black areas are brown ink washes. On the skin, I was deliberately going for a pallid, washed out look. Better pic coming at some point.
Several things that I want to point out is that you may want to use inks to help smooth out and define the character. Use Flesh Inks on the flesh areas, Red ink on the red areas, etc., etc. Use a lot more black lining to define where the joins meet one another. Also, take your time. Be patient and don't rush things.
