Grey Knight Captain

After my mini No. 99305 has been rated quite averagely, here's one of my redone (washed with watered-down blue ink etc.) GK's. Just want to know if a living person like you and me can get a decent voting without all this blending/nmm stuff (which doesn't fit to 40k minis at al in my opinion). I mean - look around - what minis which are rated 5 here are really just average tabletop quality. The average in real life is way lower in my opinion. Btw: The golden parts of the mini doesn't really look that bad in reality.

sure, the average here is not the average in real life, but this is CMON, *not* real life. it is comprised of , for the most part, miniature painters who happen to game; not gamers who happen to paint. now to your mini: it is possible to get in to the 6's with a straightforward paintjob, but it has to be clean. i think i see the primer coat on parts of your minis, and it looks rough. all your paint is where it needs to go though, so just smooth it out and work on coverage. your painting will improve with practice, to the point where you can kick out a solid mini in a few hours. i know that now it seems painful to shade and hilight, but soon it will be reflex, and as fast as one. just keep at it. the base looks good btw.

Hi Lite! This is a good decent job. The base is very nice. I would just critique you a few things. I can spot several neatness issues, with paint lapping onto other parts it should not be. I might also suggest not using metallics on certain parts, like the hoses, and flexible undersuit. Im with you on the use of metalics for 40K, but metallics do also need to be shaded and highlighted like regular paint. But you still did quite well with this mini
