Since I wanted the freehand to be of the same color (lighter tone) with the robes I paint it after having finished the robes. Both were painted with “layering” starting from the darkest tone witch in the freehand was the robe’s middletone. My advice in general is that when it comes to freehand if you are not so confident about your hand it is better to try it somewhere else first.
