My first try with a gem effect...used the guide here on CMON :D
I think the result is pretty good, but i would like some comments, like what i could do better and stuff like that....
so comments are very welcome (^_^)
First biggest suggestion, loose the gloss varnish. The best alternative is from Testors and it's called dull coat. It will give you protection but you won't get that shine. I haven't tried it myself, but I have been told you can use DullCoat over top of gloss and it will get rid of the effect. The gem looks pretty good (you can even leave that glossy). I think his fin should be a different colour then the leaves though, and you should do something to pick out the individual leaves more, perhaps a few different greens.
