Old School Crazy Style Wood Elf Wardancer
One Jes Goodwin Wardancer from the late 80s. I love these guys. I think they look a billion times better than the new Wardancers. I also grew up loving the super insane, over the top color, crazy design paint jobs of those crazy Brits in the REAL White Dwarf (before they had an American Division). Those guys used to do the most insane paint jobs, and this is my attempt to copy their style. I'm really happy how well it turned out. Very pleasing. I tried some new lighting painting. If you notice, the leather strap is highlighted moving from flat, on the shoulder, to line, on the back, to simulate the light shining from above and highlighting different angles. This same thing can be seen on the pants, and the chainmail of the left arm. Also in this miniature can be seen my patented "Semi Non-Metal Metal" technique. In this I use pure white for the final highlight on my metallic metal. I first did this around April of this year (2005), when I noticed that the brightest reflective point on a piece of metal showed up as pure white (or whatever color the major light source in the area is). You can see this on the the chainmail, where the top of the left armor was drybrushed pure white, or on the spear head where the lines are given a thin skull white line over the Mithril Silver highlight.
