sorry about the bad lighting working on finding good photo spot, guys im haveing a hard time photographing minis i just went outside to reshoot this peice to try natrual lighting, can anyone lend me some pointers, im useing a digital camera with 3.1 mega pixels, somewhat older but never had this problem in the past with shooting other things i think its the scale, and comments would be greatly appreciated.

You need a camera with Macro, the pixel count is less important. If you have a strip light for your painting then that should be okay for lighting the photos too. Use a blank white sheet of paper for a back drop and make sure the model fills the viewfinder, or crop the edges like that.
