Lizardman Lord

Seeing as I had the dino rider left over from my Crimson Fist, I thought I'd convert him into a foot soldier, using the legs of a plastic saurus. Originally converted for the 04 GD I only finished painting him this year, so he got entered into this years GD. I had the skin really nicely done and mesed it up with a black wash, top tip, make your washes really thin, you can always do another, but you can't take one off! Made finals, which I was really pleased about, but there were some awesome entries this year and lack of anything fancy meant no trophy for him.

Fantastic. It's a great model to start with - for once here's a model with a huge weapon which looks "right" because it's a long thin lance and the wielder looks muscular enough to be reasonably able to use it. Your decision to put him up on a block really empasises the asymmetrical pose - a very fine sculptural composition results. Your painting is worthy of the piece you've assembled.
