FIMO Sculpted Space Wolves bust

This is my third attempt at sculpting a 'Forge World' style bust (my first two being small Ork busts made from green-stuff, sculpted many years ago). This piece was made from Fimo clay and somewhat inspired by the works in progress page at www.prophet-miniatures.com. The shoulder pads were not created until after the body was fired, which seemed to cause minor problems.

Thanks for the comments and advice :-) The sculpting was done in one sitting (hence the wonky nature!), as at the time I didn't know it was possible to bake in stages. Hope to have some more pics up soon as I have some 25-30 almost finished sculpts!

This is starting to look good, keep practicing dude. Left you some links on 'Eavy metal thread. If you're gonna venture into Fimo, click the OOAK Guild banner in my sig. There is a wealth of info and advice, not to mention some pretty fantastic sculpts. Oh yeah check out Pixie-willow.com too(she has a vid on You Tube as well). keep up the good work. Mick

The head shape and proportions are screwy on both this one and the one in the background. My advice to you is, work from a reference (in this case, an actual model or a piece of good art) and don't quit sculpting until it's right!
