WIP Space Marine with Plasma

This is clearly a work in progress that is not going well so I need your advice. How should I highlight this guy and with what paint? He is painted with boltgun and heavily washed with chestnut and brown inks. The skull on his hand will be gold or bone, not sure which yet. How should I paint the rest of the weapon, as well?
