Hmmm, I'm thinking maybe an 'icey' blue effect for teeth and claws and a blue/purplish colour for gums. Not very 'realistic' (but hey, its a fantasy hobby afterall!) but I feel would compliment the artic/wintery feel of the piece. Totally agree with other dude about the mane being started from light brown/ bleached bone and worked up to white to give a 'warmer' winter feel. Look at pics of polar bears to see what I mean (theres a browny/yellow tinge to their fur). I feel the base would also need a wintery vibe to compliment the piece but would also need rocks/ grass patches etc to add a bit of interest and contrast. Hope my thoughts have been helpful, remember to post him when he's finished!

teeth & claws should start from brown (leather) and go through a pale yellow to ivory. The muscles and shadows here can be denoted with a very thin very pale grey wash. If you can see it, you probably have too much. Very slowly build up to where you are satisfied. It is a bit late, but I like to work the other way. Start with the shadow, then paint lighter & lighter into the highlight.

Maybe make the mane gray to add som contrast Gums purple Claws and teeth white, but instead of gray as base, use bleached bone or similiar color to add contrast from the fur.
