The owl is scratchbuilt, in lieu of the small dragon on the original sculpt.

Nice owl... O RLY? ;) The paint job is a bit rough, some of the highlights are a little abrupt, and her blue makeup looks just bizarre. Also the "grass" looks distinctly un-grassy. But overall, a solid mini! And as I said a good owl!
You have a great sense of color based on this example, but your values need some work. The differences betweent he highlights and the shadows is too extreme without the needed levels of gradiant. Start by making your shadows less dark. Your highlights seem flat due to this. Otherwise it looks like your paint may need to be thinned more and you should use more light or play with the exposure on your camera. I hope that helps.
