Phoenix

This was a fun paint. I really enjoyed sculpting the base. I chose to stylize the lava as opposed to going for realism---just to try something a little different. All-in-all, I'm very happy with this cool little piece.

I agree with ThomsaGrable about the desire to see the brighter colors on the phoenix itself. I like the little accents of blue, but I'm not sure how well they work for a phoenix. I'd also like to see the mini photo'd from a different angle. The base ends up being a little overpowering because it's so much brighter than the mini, although I like your stylized lava.

the base on this is awesome! a 9 or a 10. i do think that if the phoenix was as bright and vibrant as the base the overall score its getting would be higher. also the blueish purpleish line of feathers confuses me. solid mini tho.
