Yeah, do dark grey lines in the grooves on the white parts, and dark blue grooves in the light blue sections. It'll look great! Also look up a gem painting tutorial for the red parts.
I think your colour scheme is fine. If this idea were executed very well it could look really good. You have to do shading and highlighting before your minis will look good though... I guess you knew that? Well, get on it.
