Urban War Sniper

Yay! Finally another mini completed :D I was lucky enough to win 3rd place (Sci-Fi category) in the Femme Fatale painting competition over at Wyrd Miniatures. Many thanks to those who commented and voted for her and a BIG thanks to Nathan for organising the competition! I used Vallejo spray undercoat which left her very grainy - it was very disappointing, but I just decided to get on with it rather than strip her. But I would warn people from using this primer - it melts plasticard for one and leaves a less than satisfactory finish. Having said all that, I was really very pleased with how she turned out. I really tried hard with my blending and purposely chose a very limited pallet to blend her in with her surroundings. God I love snipers!!! I have another one primed and ready ;) As always, comments and votes gratefully received :D

Great choice of colour palette for the look you were going for. Also very nice controlled blending. Congratulations on a well deserved 3rd with her.

I agree that the dust looks strange, but the overall look of this miniature is quite good IMO. I think this mini will look totally different IRL. You did a very good job on the base and the face, but I don't like the way you painted the rifle... looks like you only used two colors for basecoat and highlight... but again: could be the pic. Nice one :)

Thanks for the comments. The dusty look on the clothes is intentional! She's been walking on and lying down on the ground....
