You seem to have the right idea, but technical execution is a little rough. I would suggest thinning down the paints with a good medium to avoid showing brush strokes and improve your blending. I would also highlight the metal, and make the rivets more crisp (i.e., don't have the metal on ANYTHING else but the rivet). Finally, give the base some more work; this is a sweet 'jack, and he deserves to be standing something cool as well!
