Scratch sculpted sci-fi bases cast in resin
Some of you may already have seen a few of these bases used with my recent postings to CMON. These were sculpted using baked sculpey, green stuff, plasticard, pins, brass rods, brass deck plating, straws, monkey brains, you name it :-) Whatever it took to achieve the final texture, that's what I used. Of course, they looked very bizzare until they were cast in resin and became a uniform color! :-) It has been very nice to paint up a few batches of these bases. I can try the same base many different ways now, and not have to worry about taking the time to sculpt the base all over again. Also, the resin is quite strong, and it does a great job of anchoring the miniature. These bases can be used on either 25mm round GW style bases, or 30mm round Dark Age/Privateer press style bases. Also, I have several 40mm designs which I will be posting. In addittion, I will post images of the dozens of fantasy style bases I have created, which fit on 25mm square and 40mm square GW bases.
