Nakai the Wanderer
The lizardman have a legend about an ancient Kroxigor, Nakai the Wanderer. Usually he shows up wherever there is a good fight. When he shows up the Skinkpriests give him new armor and golden ornaments and so, you need to look good for a nice fight! I had this idea about this one for some time but did not have the guts to go for this project. Of course he had to be converted, which I have not done before on this scale (Although you will probably think this is a minor conversion, so far this is my first real conversion). First I created a cape of greenstuff. To fit it on I had to remove some of the horns of his backbone (scary, no way back after that). I got lucky, the greenstuf got not completely hard so it was possible to get it of and paint it separately. Second I cut of the head of the club he is swinging and replaced it by a kind of 40K-looking halberd. I thought if this Kroxigor so old he could have picked up a weapon of the old ones (which I heard somewhere should have been one of the 40K-races). Also I tried to create some big scares (1 on his chest, right side and one of his left leg). Being in so many battles must leave some scares. Now I painted the Kroxigor and the cape and put them together again. Then I took Saururwarrior-shoulder-pads. First I cut one in half and then put a second one on top of the first one. The top of the cape look wrong to me somehow. I thought a tiger skin would look nice. For the base I took a goblin, re-arranged his arms so he could lie down, broke his bow. Painted him. Put the base together, added some blood, from the goblin For the color scheme I usually stick close to the GWcolors (see http://www.coolminiornot.com/124514). For this one I had to have other colors. So it turned out to be a light purple skin and dark purple (almost black) scales. And for a more aggressive look I added some red spikes. On the golden parts I tried some NMM-effects in metalpaints. Of course the real thing looks better than the picture. I added a close-up of the face of the goblin and the halberd. So let me know what you think of this by leave a comment. Thanx
