I like the red edging on black. A bit brighter on the corners might make it pop a bit more. The gold looks good, too. The axe seems a bit flat and could use some shading (maybe lighten the edges a bit with some pure white.
I don't care for the base. The stark white contrasts too much with the black and looks vert flat. The black peeking through and spillover doesn't help. You may want to trim that.
