Emperors Champion

I have tried NMM on the silver part of the sword. On the gold part i had painted it blood red first then Gold, which purely by accident gave it a two tone effect when looked at from different angles. I have tried to make the cloth and the gun holster have a leather effect by giving it brown washes over the blends. I found giving the black armour highlights very extremely difficult but this is what i could come up with! All comments and criticism are welcome.

It's hard to highlight black without making it look grey. You should try very light highlights on the very leading edges facing the light source and do so sparingly. Nice attempt at nmm though! I havn't even had the balls to try this yet lol :)

I be putting a coat of gloss then matte varnish on soon, wanted comments first then i could still change details if need be. Cheers for the comments though, really helpful.

Nice looking mini. The browns are good tone-wise but too shiny (ink does that). Maybe some matte varnish or dulcoat would cure that. The base, sword and armour all look good too but the armour might benefit from some contrast on the details (belt, gloves etc) just to break it up a little.
