Adding some depth to this model would be a great improvement. I might recommend a progressive metallic scheme. Star with something dark and highlight your way up. If you are using Citadel, then Tin Bitz->Dwarf Bronze->Beaten Copper->Brazen Brass->Darker gold (can't recall name)->final highlight with gold with maybe a bit of mithril silver. Fairly easy to do. Colors can always be eliminated from this list by mixing a darker with a lighter, though this is trickier for metallics, imo.
i dont think its that bad.to inprove.do a black wash on the metal if you have an ink or just watered down black if you dont also try highlighting the black with some grey
