Grenadier Zombie

Another classic from the old AD&D Grenadier figure set. This was my first attempt at painting zombie flesh, so I would be interested in any feedback. If he looks dirty, that was my intent! I was also trying for a neglected graveyard feel with the base materials - I hope it worked. I know the sculpt is nothing exciting, but it is fine for practice. Also, I think his face bears a striking resemblance to one of the Grenadier larvae in my gallery - check it out. Thanks for comments!

Funny, I always thought he ought to have kind of olive green skin too. Something Hulky about that...don't know. Maybe it's the Sonny Bono haircut? Still, fine job on this old piece...more, please!

nice work man. old minis are realy hard to work with some times (i paint a lot of them). you have done a realy nice job on this, i agree with wren about the base. some of the dark age bases would be ideal platforms to use. :)

Old minis are sometimes difficult to paint and get high scores with the results. I agree with te base part; you should glue those oldies to plastic bases for a more finished look. I wish my undead flesh looked like this! Its said that purple, blue and brown glazes (mixed with a bit of base color for bending) work well on zombie flesh tones.
