Gauntfield - Weathering Heights

Mini painted for the first round of Iron Painter II at Wyrd. This mini fell to the brush of Wargriffon, but it is my first time at a good old rust effect since I used to weather Lionel train tressels some (OMG) 30 years ago. A mud effect is also on the lower portion of the clothing and the sack and dirt effects cover the rock outcropping.

I think both the mud effect and the rust works excellent. I really like the simplified colourscheme as well. I don't know how many layers you use with the brown washes on the cloth but the more and tinner you do them, the more of a blending effect. But it looks good now as well. What would improve this piece even more is if you tried a little more sudued green for the grass to fit the mood of the piece. You can also use some different brown and green washes on both the stone and grass to give more life to them. Be subtle with the washes though. You should also consider painting the trim of the base black to make it look more tidy. My favourite piece by you! Well done! :D Sven
