Hang Ten Tiki Familiar
Okay, assessing this one from the standpoint of what I was trying to do, I would say it is a limited success. I don't usually take as much time as I did with this mini. So, just taking the time to get as many layers of paint as I did into this one is something of an accomplishment for me. The actual affects, I dunno. The pinapple came out okay, I think, though it's probably brighter than I would have liked. The body didn't come out as well as I liked, and given my highlighting choices, I found myself working rapidly towards pink. Stupid mistake, and that's one reason I didn't go as bright as I would have liked on the highlights. They eyes and the mouth gave me more trouble than I would have liked, and I lost the wood texture in several spots. Too heavy on the paints, I think. Not a very good mini by any objective standard I'm afraid, but I'm happy because it's better than my usual effort, and because it's the first mini I've finished in some time. Now that my hand is beginning to remember how to hold a brush, I hope I can get somethig a little more precise next time.
