Reaper Goblin Warband

Well, Here is my first post. After reading and enjoying this site for weeks and slowly becoming intimidated, I have decided to post and get it over with. Remember to take it easy on a newbie without the correct lighting. :) This is my Reaper Goblin Warband in progress. I decided to post this unfinished in hopes that I might get some constructive criticism, or flames (they can be fun to read). I constructed the base from scratch using Sculpty and some local axillary leaf tufts, and the archer is the only one with a painted matching base. I had to make sure it looked alright. I haven't decided on NMM or Metallics on the armor, and I still have to come up with clothing color schemes. I'll post a finished one soon.

The ruins are the best, but there again that's the only bit completed. I'd suggest ytou go for dull mid brown sacking or fawn colour for their clothing and rusted iron/metal for the armour and weapons. NMM is just a fad. Paint the armour black, then damp brush black and silver mixed over it. Dry brush silver. Thin down some burnt sienna and apply sparingly as a stain on some parts. Just a touch of orange similarly on this again... for rust. You may want to then fix up again with silver, sparingly and on high-lights.

3 on my scale is "cool fig painted badly". In this case only because most of each is not painted at all. What you have done looks good but could be highlighted up one or two more levels. Kudos for stringing the bow. I'd try dark colors with one bright color like black with orange. metal/NMM is a personal choice thing, but I think NMM looks best for polished surfaces and I thing goblins should be dirty.

The goblin skin tones look good, but since it's unfinished they almost look like greens. The ruins look good, tho. Nice detail with the strung bow! I'd use subdued colors to finsih out the armor, gear, and clothing. I'd like to see the finished version.
