Dwarf Anvil (WIP)

This is the first step in my anvil. I´ve decided to paint is as it is marble, each step on one type of marble (green, pink and white marble). The runes on it have been painted as is they were glowing. Please help me, with your comments, so I can improve it, it is going to by the centerpiece of my dwarf army!

i like what you have so far and i know my stuff isnt much to go by but jsut got a few suggestions. when i used some marble effects i find it easier to use lots of block of one colour and then tintied highlights with a very fine brush. i would replace the green all over with a dark turquise and then higlight with thin streaks of lighter turquiose but not to much and then really light touches of white but not too much or will distract from the runes. then paint the runes in areally contrasting color such as gold or yellow mayb go for a bit of a nmm look (that would look really nice) for the pink i would change colour again perhaps to liek an ice blue with flecks of white nice and simple with a really dark blue rune. and for the white jsut paint it white all over greys on the gaps inbetween each slab , space wolf grey mixed with fortress grey for flecks of marble and then for the runs a deep red or something liek that then glaze all the marble with a gloss will look nice takes time but trust me lol

Pretty good. The black lines on the pink marble are fine (there's a mineral that looks just like that - rhodochrosite??? Rhodonite??? Rhodo-something anyway!) They look a bit harsh on the pale marble tho'. Maybe make those ones grey? Have you considered painting some of the lines on when the underlying colour is still wet? The blurring effect might be interesting. A wash of metallic ink on the runes would help them to 'glow', but is the sort of thing that doesn't show up well in photos. (Not in mine anyway...)
