Nothing wrong with using oils on minis, check out Vincenti (multiple golden demons). Not for the beginniner, I'd stick with acrylics myself.
Photo is dark and mini needs more contrast (another layer of slightly brighter highlights.)
Sorry to give such a low rating, but oils are not really appropriate for painting figs, where the consistancy of the paint is just as important as the blend: You can control the consistancy of acrylic paint with just water, but you need oil medium with oils.
