Dwarf - My very *First* mini

Greetings, Here's my very first post of my very first painted miniature. Let me know what you think? The highlights are stronger on the green than appears on the picture. Thanks! Hacker :)

Thanks for the comments! they are much appreciated. Necrontyrtitan: I got the effect with the snow by mixing the snow (woodland scenics, or GW snow) with ardcoat varnish and then just plopping it on with a brush onto the base. You can then add more snow on top by putting some PVA on the melting snow and sprinkling some of the powder on top. The Kill: It really is my first mini, there's nothing I can do if people don't believe me. I sat with a good friend and watched her paint the same one and I copied what she did. I guess she's a really good tutor because she didn't touch the mini at all, just pointed out what corrections needed doing.

Haha I liked the way he pointed out that it's his first mini. Sorry mate no one's gonna believe that. There are just too many things that you can't get right the first time. Anyway, all the techniques seem to be there, so if you go on practising I don't see why you shouldn't be hoarding Golden Demons soon. 6,8

For a first mini, this is very good...much better than mine! You already seem to have a good handle on highlighting, and obviously good brush control (eyes and the bottom lip). The green looks very rich in the picture too, even without the stronger highlights...Take a look at some of the articles, and see what you can do to improve...theres always something! One question though - What did you use for the snow on the base? It looks a little like it's melting, and I'm working on a diorama that would suit that look perfectly!
