Classic Squat Trooper

Another chap who's been languishing in my "unloved" box for many years, I finally lavished upon him the attention he deserved. I was keen to give this model - sculpted very strongly in the "early-80s" style of GW - a paintjob that would make him fit into a 21st century Imperial Guard army; hence the muted browns and greens. Despite the fact that every model I post on CMON is better than the last, my score still stays stubbornly in the <7 area, so I'm really looking for tips from you guys on how to consistently cross that magic barrier. Constructive criticism very much welcomed (and I will do my utmost to respond in kind!).

You had a nice oportunity here for using urban cammo or even SAS and counter terrorist color patterns. The visor can also get nice efects on it... more contrast would help too. Definetdly this one worths more than $2 both for the OPP mini and the avobe the standard paintjob. Solid work, nice base.

To get above 7 you need to do something extra, free hand, green stuff, conversion etc. Posting a figure that has won an award or appeared in a magazine helps too.
