I saw this guy in a bargain bin. His floppy hat reminded me of the Prodigal Sorcerer from 5th edition Magic. So I tried to paint him to look like that.
Magic and minis. It just doesn't get better than that. ;)
Now, I like a lot the gradients you got out of the purple, and the rest seems to be ok although it's hard to tell since the pic looks as if you were using the camera flash, or too near a lamp; the lighter colors get lost in the glare. (e.g., the left eye is almost undistinguishable from the cheekbone)
The base isn't bad, but it'd look better if you provide a bit more contrast between the shaded and exposed bits.
