Army Commander (HQ)

Tell me what you think of the scheme. Inspired by the bad camp movie 'Megaforce'. :) -R

first try painting the metal parts black first then drybrushing over it with silver. Also paint the eyes a different color.and paint the stuff on his belt grey or something. Everything else is good though, very creative color scheme. Keep going you'll get it

Just becuase someone is not a GD daemon level painter doesn't mean it's right to slag them off like that. He probebly took a long time painting this guy, and deserves credit for it. It is probebly one of his first minis, and he needs support not critism so he'll carry on painting. Everyone had to start somewhere, you can't just pick up a brush and bring out a GD level paint job. Give the guy a break. Maybe try using thinner paints, and using a different colour for that little control box. Also try to pick out the tubing etc. with metal, I think that always makes a mini look really nice. You could (on another mini) try using bleached bone drydrushed with white for simple shading. Also mix a little white white the brown and drybrush that over the bronw sections. Codex Grey can be used, drybrushed over the black sections. You will be suprised at the difference.

I suggest some shading on the white. It could really make a difference. I give it a 3, based on 5 being what I would field for a game. Keep painting.
