When you look into the abyss The abyss also looks into you. It's been such a long time since I last posted anything... For this particular mini I tried to introduce a relatively dark approach, paint using TMP technique (True Metal Painting) and try to achieve a kind of pointed zenithal light. It turned a pretty challenging little figurine, as well as you would expect from a Rackham mini - so tiny and fragile, with so many little details to paint. I painted the metals using a generally similar technique to those used by Nano and Allan (thank you very much for your kindness in giving me advices and answering my questions!). For a primer coat I used chainmail, then I carefully placed highlights using mithril silver. For shadowing I used first washes of boltgun metal and then for darker shadows mixes of boltgun and black ink (every next mix with more black ink added) and finally with pure black ink. Then I rehighlighted some surfaces that required it. Next step has been applying juices of mixed purple and green ink to produce more depth (it ins't really clear in the picture). Final step has been applying washes of mixed bestial brown and shadow grey in order to reduce the briliance. For skin I used a mix of elf flesh, shadow gray, red gore and white for a prime coat. The figure was then given some shadowing using brown-red and grey-blue tones. I have done highlights using very carefully applied washed to achieve smooth blendings. Lastly I would like to thank all those great people who helped me with answering my questions and supporting me: Banshee(you've been so kind!), Nano (ance again thanks for your advices!), Allan C, Fluffy and Bragon. You are the best! I would be really greatful for your comments, so please write them if you can! Any constructive criticism will be apprieciated. It would be honour for me to read them! Regards. Bohun
