2 things: 1) You should have writte your explaination as how the mini was ment to be understood in the comment area. I actually agreed with Spanky on alot of the positioning, but now that you explained the intention of the positioning I can see what you mean. 2) A better camera will go a long way :)

Personally, I like the meat!! good and messy! But the colors all over are a bit flat. spruce up the highlights a bit more as I'm just not seeing the depth of color . . . er maybe that's the camera? Can't really get a good feel for the face of the Tyranid itself. Maybe an angle from the left of this position - instead of stright on??
