2892: Arethusa, Nereid

This sat on my bench for a while before I painted it, and at first I wasn't sure why. Then I realized ... those are the ugliest hands I've ever seen on a mini. It's like they are turning into a werewolf or something. And the towel does some really strange things in places ... not that you would pay attention to that sort of thing. (It literally divides in two at one point in order to wrap around her feet.)

This is a pretty scary sculpt, I have to agree. I don't think there's too much that can be done to disguise that paint-wise! I think that given there are only a few colour areas, it might have a little more visual impact if the hair were painted a more distinct colour/tone from the skin, though I think that's exacerbated by the yellow cast to the photos. The blue towel works well with the colours you've chosen here.
