vintage dwarfs

I came across a bunch of old GW minis and these dwarves were amog them. i could not believe how cool these old minis are (some are from 1985) and how much character they have. i think, that they are 100% cooler than actual GW dwarf line. so i painted a few and decided to collect the old citadel dwars.

I agree that they are better then the current dwarf warriors and that they definitely have a lot of character, but are a bit too funny for my taste. Also, with their big heads and tiny bodies don't look strong and tough as the proper dwarfs should. But anyway, your work is a great, nostalgic and very rare oportunity to see the old miniatures superbly painted. :-)

thanks for comment! btw, i still have not identified the first two dwarves. i browsed all the old catalogs on the solegends.com and i found the dwarf with hammer in 1988 catalog (imperial dwarf #28) and the longbeard in 1993 catalog (longbeard #5) but i can't find the first two (the blue / yellow dwarf and the dwarf with tube)

8 just for showing good old dwarfs:) I must say that I collect those old fellows also, but it is much more difficult for a polish student, 'cos I earn polish money and pay ebay prices:D Anyway nice colors ( especially on the drummer and long beard with great sword ). The longbeard is great, and has most character, but the rest is also nice. The truth is, that painting old dwarfs isn't easy - miniatures have much character but castings/flat areas make it difficult to paint sometimes. Good luck in collecting grumpy ones, and don't pay to much or the prices will rise and rise;) :P
