This is a Reaper miniature that I painted to be one of the characters from my Sunday gaming group. The character is a half elf named Ivy Twinings (you can see her with the whole group shot as well on my web site).

Thanks SaxonAngel. Yes, with each new mini I try to get a bit more daring. Blacklining is something I want to experiment with :o)

This is a very neat clean paintjob. The details are picked out nicely. Now take the next step and try some Blacklining (or brownlining..whatever). It will make the colours and details really "pop!". Good job and keep painting!

Thank you ZaPhOd. I did indeed use a wash for shading and dry brushing for highlights to some degree, but I'm still learning both of these procedures and each new mini is a good lesson for me. The one place you hit on is a weakness of mine...the face. Eyes and lips are no problem, but shading and highlighting the face to bring them out better is something I really need to work on. Thanks again for your words of encouragement.
