Is this painted in acrylic colours? If so colours look a little thick. Also as ZaPhOd said inks and washes would really bring the detail out. Drybrushing is also an excellent way to bring out details such as scales.
Need to get some real shading happening here. THe base is no good silver. At least blackj woul dbe nice. Try the ink washes and such for all the metal colors. it will really bring the color out more.
